The number of vegan runners is on the rise.
Perhaps this is just a sign of the increasing popularity of both veganism and running within the general population. Or maybe the health benefits of a plant-based diet are becoming more appealing to athletes, both amateur and professional.
Maybe it can all be blamed at the fast feet of Mo Farah for his double whammy of sporting success and also promoting a plant-based diet with his Quorn adverts.
What’s for sure is if you are a vegan thinking of taking up running or running already, there is a large community of like-minded folk out there to support you – checking out Vegan Runners UK running club is a good place to start.
Last year I wrote a blog for The Vegan Society on this very subject – The Rise of The Vegan Runner.
